Everyday I take warm showers, and every other day I take warm baths because hot water can make my eczema symptoms worse, or cause my skin to irritate. Also, when I get random heat rashes that look like burns. I use cold showers and ointment for treatment .
Here are a few things I use for my skin condition:
Clobetasol propionate ointment USP 0.05%: Is a topical steroid medication that treats skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. I have gotten this ointment prescribed for me from the dermatologist
Bacitracin zinc: Is a medicine used for eczema, small cuts, scrapes, or burns and other skin wounds to help prevent infection.
Miconazole cream can be used to treat eczema, and ringworm.
Iodine and hydrogen peroxide (which put into spray bottles):
Iodine for wounds and hydrogen peroxide is an antiseptic to treat and prevent infections in minor cuts and scrapes. I put a little water in the hydrogen peroxide to dilute it. I use iodine and hydrogen peroxide because sometimes dermatitis can cause infection or open sores.
Bed pads for the floor when applying iodine to skin so it would not stain the floor.
Xeroform Gauze Dressing; do use on open wounds. Xeroform is antimicrobial Gauze Dressing that helps heal wounds.
Gauze, wrap, ace bandage wrap, for wound: I use this if needed. I always keep them stored somewhere just in case.
Gloves (powder free, Latex-free synthetic free): I use gloves when I put on ointment because it prevents the spread of eczema to other parts of my body.
(Note: Before and After make sure you wash your hands every time you add treatment)
Supplies I Use Daily
Dove soap for sensitive skin and Ginger Soap; I'm allergic to fragrance soap. These are only two soaps that work for me. Plus, black tar soap
White towels: 100% cotton free of dyes and synthetic free fabrics because I'm allergic to synthetic material
Free Clear HE Liquid Laundry Detergent - up&up: I'm allergic to fragrance Laundry Detergent and so I have to use laundry detergent free of dyes and perfumes. By use the wrong Detergent it can cause Contact Dermatitis
Cocoa butter healing Vaseline
Hollywood Beauty Coconut Oil
Sulfur 8 shampoo and grease: These are only two that work for me. Other hair products would cause me to have an allergic reaction
Sincerely,
L.K.G
